About me & the blog
I'm starting this blog as a way to keep up with my newest journey, working on my PhD.
Here are the key things you need to know to understand my perspective:
- I'm a "non-traditional" grad student*: I got my master's degree many years ago (10 actually) before deciding to go back to school again for my doctorate
- I am a former third-culture kid addicted to travel - I've been to 50 countries and counting. You can read about some of my pre PhD life living in South Korea and Nigeria.
- I'm passionate about many things (inequity and health disparities primarily) and
- I'm a nut job (well clearly, since I left a lucrative career to go back to school)
I can't promise I'll write as frequently as I should but it should be fun documenting all the crazy fun times
And if you caught the the title of this blog is a play on blink-182's song
...well, I'm not too sure you should be proud of that. (Note: no actual nudity but slight cursing - view at your own peril)
Anyway, not only did I really like the song growing up, but I like to think that in no way am I bound or limited by the age or stage I am supposed to be in. I'll continue to forge my own path and choose my own road.

My life has always been an adventure and I don't expect that to change because I am back in school.

* I love this article I discovered perfectly documenting some of the mental struggles. I'm in the middle of this writer's age and the "traditional grad student" but it definitely applies. I'll write on this someday too.
